Revealing The Sure Purpose Of Beard Oil

What is the purpose of beard oil? We've all seen beard oil advertised on the internet now, but what does it do?

The purpose of beard oil is...

Braw Beard oil's purpose is to moisturise the hair and skin underneath to reduce the itch and irritation that comes with growing a beard. Although there are cheap alternatives out there, Braw Beard oil is a 100% natural product. We choose the ingredients for their benefits. For example:

Hempseed oil – contains a vast array of good fats, vitamins and proteins that are beneficial to the body, not just the hair.
It contains omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids which may stimulate hair growth. The oil promotes blood circulation on the scalp too, it’s easily absorbed by the hair which can help strengthen the hair, reducing breakages.

Jojoba oil – it’s an oil extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant. It is rich in vitamins and minerals too. This oil is great as a moisturiser which is good for the scalp to reduce dandruff, itchiness and irritation.

Vitamin E – the antioxidants in vitamin E oil have been known to repair damaged hair follicles and hair shafts. It is a deep moisturiser for your hair and skin which reduces dry skin and irritation. Vitamin E oil may protect your hair from the elements too.

Argan oil (not in Grafter, Lover or Wulver) – is produced from the kernel in the argan tree. Known as liquid gold, argan oil helps repair damaged hair and split ends. It is often used as a leave-in conditioner (which our beard oil is anyway) which can help reduce irritation, inflammation, sores and itchiness in the skin below under your facial hair.

Then on top of those, we build the fragrance with essential oils. Again, we choose them with their benefits in mind. To read more about the essential oils in the different beard oils, check out THIS ARTICLE.

Why use it?

Braw Beard oil will leave your beard feeling softer, smoother and more manageable. The blend ratio of ingredients work to reduce irritation and dry skin which can cause dandruff (beardruff).

Would you be happy getting close to someone knowing your head is flaking dandruff everywhere? No? It’s the same scenario with your beard. You want that thing nice, smooth, clean and flake-free, no-one wants to snuggle a furry snowstorm.

When growing a beard, you may have experienced dry skin, irritation and beardruff, which is usually is enough for someone to shave their facial hair off. However, using the correct beard care products, all that can be dealt with easily.

If you have a new car or bike, you look after it, you keep it clean because you are proud and want to show it off. Why should the hair sitting on your face be any different? Treat it with care.

How to apply Braw Beard oil.

First, dispense a small amount into the palm of your hand. If you currently have facial hair, around the size of a 5 pence piece is a good amount to start with. Rubbing your palms together will warm up the oil and evenly spread the it over your palms to cover a larger surface area of your beard. The best method is to start off small and add more if required. If used correctly, Braw Beard oils will not leave your beard feeling greasy. Below is a rough guide to

Stubble to 1cm of growth

Say you are getting started on your beard journey and your beard length is between stubble and 1cm. For this length, I'd recommend using around 3-4 drops of Braw Beard oil. That will ensure enough coverage to condition the hair.

1cm to 8cm of growth

This is the most popular range of growth at the moment. For this range, I'd recommend using an amount that covers the size of a 5 pence piece (or a dime). This will provide enough to distribute throughout your beard.

It's really personal preference here. Remember the purpose of beard oil is to moisturise, therefore, you want to make sure you have enough applied. At the moment, my beard is 34cm so I am using an amount around the size of a 2 pence piece (a quarter for our American friends).

I hope this article has helped explain the purpose of beard oil.
